This is my first novel by Alison Espach. I’m definitely going to read more! This has a very interesting premise that hooked me from the beginning.
Phoebe Stone arrives at the Cornwall Inn after her husband is left with a colleague. She is depressed and depressed. She was determined to spend her last wonderful night in the place of her dreams. When she gets there, she meets guest after guest who are part of the “wedding people” and she is also mistaken for her wedding people. She doesn’t correct anyone. Because she doesn’t think she’ll be there long enough for it to matter. She hadn’t packed any bags or clothes. She had just arrived wearing a dress she owned that she thought was cute.
Then Phoebe meets her bride, Lyra. And since Laila is Brizilla, she has explained every last scenario. She was shocked to find out that there were guests who were not in her wedding party. She doesn’t know how that happened. She had a week-long wedding event planned, and when Phoebe told Lila what she had planned, she ruined her plans. Laila feels her fear, but is only worried about how it will affect her own wedding. With nothing to lose, the two women begin to open up to each other. Phoebe is at a low point in her life after her IVF failed and her husband left for another woman. Lyra thinks he is reaching her climax. The big day has finally arrived. Her father was very much looking forward to her marriage.
I can’t even do this book justice. The character development was great and the supporting characters were equally engaging. This story was what I categorized based on characters and plot. The author did a great job of making me care about these characters. I could go on for days. This made me laugh and cry. This made me keep reading fast to find out what happens next. I was always rooting for all the characters.
